Go-Arounds Are Awesome! is an aviation-safety initiative. We respect your privacy and aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to operate this website, respond to visitors, administer the Go-Around Pledge, and understand website traffic at an aggregate level.

Information you choose to provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily submit through forms on the site. Depending on the form, this may include your name, last initial, home airport ID, Personal Go-Around Decision Height, email address, flight-instructor status, certificate preferences, and messages you send through the contact form.

We use this information only for purposes related to the feature you requested, such as:

• processing and displaying approved Go-Around Pledges;
• sending pledge-related verification messages and commitment certificates;
• sending community updates when you choose to join the email list;
• responding to contact-form messages; and
• administering and improving the initiative and its resources.

Email communications

If you choose to receive community email updates, we may use your email address to send occasional information about the initiative, new resources, and ways to promote safer flying. You may unsubscribe from those communications at any time.

Transactional messages, such as pledge-update verification or certificate-related emails, may still be sent when necessary to provide a feature you requested.

Server logs and aggregate traffic statistics

Like most websites, our hosting server automatically creates access logs when pages and files are requested. These logs may contain technical information such as an IP address, date and time, requested page or file, referring page, browser type, operating system, and similar connection information.

We may review these logs for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic reporting. We currently use AWStats, a server-log reporting tool provided through our hosting environment, to understand broad website usage such as page views, referring sites, countries, browsers, and traffic trends. AWStats analyzes server logs rather than placing analytics cookies in your browser.

Security and spam prevention

Forms on this website may use automated security measures, including rate limiting, hidden anti-spam fields, and Cloudflare Turnstile. These tools help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse and may process limited technical information necessary to provide that security function.

Public information

Information shown on public pages is limited to information intended for public display. For example, approved pledge entries may display the information selected for the Pledge Wall. Email addresses are not displayed publicly unless a feature explicitly states otherwise and you choose to provide them for that purpose.
